The Eagles travel to the Glacier Ice Arena to faceoff against Libertyville in the
opening round of the Metro Central playoffs.
Puck drops at 8: 40 PM.
SENIOR NIGHT
Senior Night was a great success. Thank you to all who put on a great show.
Jacobs Athletic Director, Tom Ross and Principal, Michael Bregy as well as a
packed house filled the Crystal Ice house. Congratulations to seniors:
Erich Broz , Eric Lichtenvoort, Anthony Krieger, Captain and Allstar, Ed Wiene,
Matt Nulle, Justin Kloiber and Justin Macmillan.
BEST OF LUCK TO ALL OF YOU. JACOBS
WISHES YOU WELL!
Jacobs All-Stars, Senior, Ed Wiene, Junior, Jeremy Gottardo and Sophomore
goaltender Alex Crescenti all played extremely well in the 7 - 6 win over Metro
North. Wiene made several defensive stops including break-ups of several
odd-man rushes in the defensive zone. Gottardo, played exceptionally well
and was on the line with several Barrington players on a couple of the Metro
Central goals. Crescenti played the second period and stopped all nineteen
shots. The game featured many great plays and scoring chances with
outstanding goaltending.
Metro Central holding a 6 - 3 lead and appearing to cruise to a victory was
stung by two quick Metro North goals late in the game to make it 6 - 5. North
pulled their goaltender and Central scored with 1:20 left in the game to regain
a two goal lead. North didn't quit they scored with under a minute to go to
make it 7 - 6. After a couple of flurries Metro North made one last attempt at
tying the game. With just under eleven seconds left on the clock, North pulled
their goalie once again for a sixth attacker. After a faceoff, North was able to
get a couple of shot away only to be turned back by Central goalie Matt Rowe
(Cary Grove).
Congratulations to Kenny Hall (Crystal Lake South) for being voted most
outstanding player for Metro Central. Kenny scored two of the seven goals
and assisted in one other.
