JACOBS HOCKEY GOLDEN EAGLES
The Board of Directors for Jacobs and Huntley have announced their
teams, along with players from Marian Central, have merged. Late
Tuesday evening Metro Central and Metro Northwest approved the
merger. AHAI representatives will be reviewing the Petition in the next
few weeks. AHAI's decision does not impact the Spring session and it
appears imminent that the merger will be approved for the fall. The
details call for a two (2) year merger. At the end of two years it will be
determined if the program wishes to remain in tact or split with teams,
once again, becoming "pure". More details of the merger as they unfold
will be announced.
The "new" Board is in final negotiations to bring on the Coaching staff.
The Director of Hockey / Varsity Head Coach and assistant coaches
will be announced soon. For the moment, it appears that the new team
will be skating both at The Leafs Center and Crystal Ice House this fall.
Details on those plans will be announced in the coming weeks. The
combined club's first task is to have a practice with the new coaching
staff. This event will take place on March 11 at the Crystal Ice
beginning at 7:00 PM.
Spring Registration information will be posted on the site no later than
Monday, March 15th.
The "new" club has yet to settle on a new name and new colors. This
decision will be made in the coming weeks and will be put in place for
the Fall 2010 season. For the Spring players will be wearing a Spring
league jersey.

| GAME SUMMARIES Jacobs advances to Final Four (White Division) Congratulations to the Varsity hockey team, who won their State playoff game last night over Ignatius by a score of 6-4. Goals were scored by Kyle McHale, (2) Matt Nulle (2), Justin Kloiber, and Joey Swanson, with assists from Eddie Weine (2), Nick Onofrio, Jeremy Gottardo, Johann Wolf, Matt Nulle, Joey Swanson, Kyle McHale (2) and Shane Kathe. Goalie Buzz Amann stopped 16 shots. The Eagles advance to the FINAL FOUR in the Blackhawk Cup State Tournament White Division. They will face Highland Park next Saturday, March 13 at the Edge in Bensenville.. |
